Magma - Conservatory of Paris - January 19, 2011

On January 19, 2011, Magma participated in a "concert/masterclass" with musicians from the Conservatory of Paris. The concert consisted of only one piece, Emehntehtt-Re, and from what I have heard, the ensemble really burned up the piece!

It was also reported that the concert was being professionally filmed, and hopefully, Seventh will decide to release the video.  (Thanks to Tim for the correction)

We thank our good friend, Tim H, from the blog A Cup of Tim, for these great photos. There is additional commentary in the latest edition of Ascension magazine.

  2. Yes, Dana. All instrumental. The horns played many of the vocal lines.

  3. Udi, ask your friend Linon for a recording. I don't think you will be disappointed.

  4. - The concert was not professionnaly filmed. People filmed what they could here and there with their cellphones or digital camera.

    - Nothing will come out from this concert for the simple reason that the musicians of the Conservatoire are not professionnals (except Vander and Co, of course). So you can imagine the legal hell Seventh would have to go through to pay each musician etc.

    - Also Mr Linon didn't record the concert (as far I know) because he was sitting in front of me with Stella and his son Marcus, obviously having a really good time :)
